The above is just a little advice for officials of the ironically-named Office of Law Enforcement over at the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which itself is part of the Commerce Department.

It seems the good ladies and gentlemen of the NMFS have been accused by several Congressmen of “heavy-handed and unfair enforcement” of commercial fishing regulations following NOAA’s decision to ban so much commercial fishing in New England in the name of environmental protection that nearly all the commercial fisheries there are going out of business.

So, faced with an official investigation, what did the good folks at the Office of Law Enforcement do?

Why, they shredded documents, of course!
