28 Apr 2011 Tom Borelli Talks GE Shareholder Meeting on Fox Business on Friday

Tom Borelli of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project is scheduled to appear at approximately 9:40 AM eastern on the “Varney and Co.” program on the Fox Business Network.  Tom will report on the recent General Electric annual meeting and the National Center’s shareholder resolution on climate change risk disclosure that was offered at that meeting.

At GE’s annual meeting on April 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the National Center offered a shareholder proposal to require GE management to follow SEC guidance by disclosing the business risk from changes in the scientific, legislative and political landscape regarding developments in climate change.  Tom also challenged GE CEO Jeff Immelt about polling results that show GE’s reputation with consumers is hurt by its support of the Obama stimulus spending plan and regulations on fossil fuel emissions.
