Cherylyn Harley LeBon of Project 21 on Mandatory D.C. Sex Ed Testing

On the syndicated program “To the Contrary,” Project 21 member Cherylyn Harley LeBon shares her skepticism about new mandatory sexual education testing in the District of Columbia, and how the methodology of testing on this already sensitive subject may lack the necessary accountability to be truly effective.  Cherylyn suggests efforts may be better focused on providing teachers with the proper resources to deal with the important health concerns related to the issue rather than a questionable standardized test that is not being assessed in a traditional manner.
Joining Cherylyn in this discussion is substitute host Tara Wall (also a Project 21 member), congressional delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Judge Debra Carnahan and Independent Women’s Forum senior fellow Sabrina Schaeffer.  This edition of “To the Contrary” was aired on public television stations nationwide on the weekend of 9/17/11.
