Washington, D.C. – As President Trump opened his 2025 Joint Address to Congress, he declared: “America is back!” Ambassadors with the Project 21 black leadership network agree, and note that the president is fulfilling long-held campaign promises that put ALL Americans first.

Kendall Qualls

“President Trump boldly proclaimed that ‘America is back’ from the start of his speech and laid out a dynamic plan on how he plans to accomplish that,” said Project 21 Ambassador Kendall Qualls. “He gave examples of billions of dollars in corrupt and wasteful spending, and promised to protect women from male athletes. From the beginning of his speech, those on the political left behaved like juvenile disruptors – including Congressman Al Green, who was kicked out of session for his rude and disrespectful behavior. He and the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus are an embarrassment to this country, and to black Americans, due to both their behavior and how they have led their communities to the bottom rung of society.”

Linda Lee Tarver

“Tomorrow marks only 45 days of Trump’s whirlwind presidency and already I’m in awe of the president and his unwavering resolve to keep his promises!” said Project 21 Ambassador Linda Lee Tarver, Ed.D., Th.D. “I was at a roundtable with President Trump in Detroit in 2024, where community members asked him about his vision for economic development, prison reform, social issues and more. President Trump returned to one talking point on which all of his other promises rely: the safety and security of the American people. Horace Cooper

“America really could have used President Trump’s leadership during the last four years,” said Project 21 Chairman Horace Cooper. “There’s no comparing Donald Trump and Joe Biden. In a little more than a month President Trump has really turned our country around. He fights for America with innovative solutions, and tonight he once again showed that he will work tirelessly to make America a prosperous place, a place that makes the American Dream possible for all of its citizens.”

President Trump is on the path to restoring the American Dream for all Americans with his “Common Sense Revolution,” as he called it during his address. In just a month and a half, he has signed eighty-one executive orders, secured more than $2 trillion in new private sector investments, deported thousands of criminal illegal aliens and secured the American borders once again.

Noting this once-in-a-generation opportunity, Project 21 ambassadors recommend that President Trump consider the 56 concrete recommendations contained in Project 21’s Blueprint for a Better Deal for Black America, recommendations that were ignored by the Biden Administration yet hold the potential to ensure that the American Dream is attainable by all.

“It’s very disturbing that so many of our congressional representatives and senators (especially those who represent predominantly black and minority districts) could sit by and ignore the message of our 47th president that so clearly laid out a path to a new era of economic and social prosperity for all Americans,” said Project 21 Ambassador Emery McClendon. “It is disheartening to watch those on the left refuse to stand, clap, nod or give affirmation for such a positive message for the future of America. They even refused to agree with stopping child gender mutilation, removing boys and men from women’s sports, and enacting positive change that will strengthen our military. Every American citizen should be angry at the childish conduct of those who claim to represent the poor, minorities and working class.”

“The left must confront the truth: Kamala Harris lost the election and was unequivocally rejected by the American people,” continued DawnMarie. “It is time to move on from the outdated narrative of hate, threats and fear-mongering. This rhetoric has become tiresome and wholly unacceptable. The blatant disrespect shown toward President Trump during his speech by those responsible for running this country is inexcusable. President Trump’s plan to eliminate taxes on tips, overtime and Social Security is a monumental benefit for millions of hardworking Americans. The ability to deduct interest on purchasing American-made vehicles is long overdue and will undoubtedly fuel economic growth in this nation. While Trump’s approach may be unconventional, distasteful or even shocking to some, it is clear that the American people are hungry for something new and effective.

“The failed methods of the past must be abandoned once and for all; to cling to them is futile,” concluded DawnMarie. “The American people deserve genuine representation, not toxic rhetoric. Leftist leaders need to remember that their duty is to serve the American populace. Now is not the time to resist progress to cling to power; instead, we must embrace decorum and collaborate through bipartisanship. Kamala lost; Trump is President. It’s time for mature behavior, emotional control and a rejection of petty antics. This is not about politicians; it is about rescuing America. With $37 trillion in debt, Trump’s plan to balance the budget and tackle wasteful spending is critical to our future. Hope is on the horizon, and unity is on the verge of becoming a reality.
