
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Pastor Steven Perry is widely known as a church planter, church networker, church recruiter, and administrator.
He joined the United States Army 10 days after high school and served faithfully 5 years active duty and 2 years reserved time. In 2003, he was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom and served with the 4th Infantry Division, which was the unit credited with the capture of Saddam Hussein.
Pastor Steve started his first church in Detroit in 2007, and has since planted other churches throughout Michigan, including Word Encounter Church in 2019. In addition, he is the pastor of Bethel Church in Roseville. His church ministries include a thrift store and a facility to help those seeking to turn their lives around after drug addiction and/or prison.
Being an educator has been a lifelong gift and passion for Pastor Steve. In addition to his pastoral duties, he has been an instructor in the U.S. Army, a community leader, a motivational speaker, a mentor and a teacher. He has also helped others build businesses and congregations.
Pastor Steve served as host of TCT Television Network’s “Ask the Pastor” show, and has also appeared on the Word Network and radio.
The son of Deacon Steven Anthony King and the late Ms. Sheila Perry, Pastor Steve graduated from Murray-Wright High School and received an associates degree in business from ITT Technical Institute. He is now happily married to the love of his life, Dr. Tiarra Perry, and is father to Steven Jay Perry.
