Apostle Tommy E. Quick, a Project 21 ambassador, is the senior pastor and founder of The Spartanburg Christian Discipleship Center, now The Promised Land Church of God in Christ, where he has served for over 32 years. His ministry spans 48 years, successfully pioneering three churches in North and South Carolina and building three edifices for the glory of God. He also serves as chief of staff, superintendent of the SC district, and chairman of the ordination committee in the NC3rd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction COGIC. Apostle Quick’s ministry is broadcasted every Sunday on The Promised Place Broadcast.
Apostle Quick has established many community programs, including the Adult Child Enrichment Program, Positive Direction for Youth, and a 21st Century After-School Program. He developed Trinity Gates, a 48-single-home subdivision, in 2008, and founded Black Boys of Distinction. His awards include the 2013 Human Rights Award from Church Women United and the 2015 SC NAACP Humanitarian of the Year. Since 2015, he has led Legacy Christian School, aiming to make it a premier Christian preschool and elementary school.
For over 48 years Apostle Quick has been a stalwart advocate for restoring biblical values in families and communities. In 2020, he founded Christian Families Against Destructive Decisions (CFADD) with the mission to influence the building and sustaining of strong families and strong generational heritages by promoting a biblical worldview and God-first lifestyle.
Apostle Quick, together with his wife Valerie H. Quick, has built a thriving family of his own, exemplifying the very principles promoted by CFADD. Married for 39 years, Apostle Tommy and Valerie have been blessed with five children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Several of their children are actively serving in ministry alongside Apostle Quick.
