The Risk Analysis Division (RAD) considers health policies such as food, nutrition, tobacco and e-cigarettes, pharmaceutical and environmental issues, from a free-market and science-based perspective.
Public health groups in the U.S. and around the world tend to be dominated by a view that we always need more regulation and the private sector is usually the enemy. RAD believes that policy-makers often don’t consider the unintended consequences of heavy-handed regulations and how private sector innovation, when regulated with the appropriate light-touch, can improve our lives.
