Trump Congratulated on \u201cWell-Written and Well-Delivered Speech\u201d to \u201cMake Americans Freer, Happier and Even More Prosperous\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Washington, D.C. \u2013 Following President Donald Trump\u2019s first State of the Union address, black activists with the Project 21 leadership network<\/a> are available for comment.<\/p>\n In tonight\u2019s address, President Trump spoke of a \u201cnew American moment\u201d in which \u201c[t]here has never been a better time to start living the American Dream.\u201d He touted the approximately 3 million workers receiving bonuses tied to his tax reform package as well as his desire for \u201cevery American to know the dignity of a hard day\u2019s work.\u201d He also said: \u201cAmericans love their country, and they deserve a government that shows them the same love and loyalty in return.\u201d<\/p>\n During the address, which touched on divisive issues including immigration, taxes and national security, President Trump asked lawmakers \u201cto set aside our differences, to seek out common ground, and to summon the unity we need to deliver for the people we were elected to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n Here are some of the immediate reactions from Project 21 members about the President\u2019s speech:<\/p>\n
