Washington, D.C.<\/em> – With the Biden Administration exploring a racial disparate-impact analysis<\/a> of school discipline statistics, the leaders of the Project 21<\/a> black leadership network said this would set up a system of \u201cracial quotas\u201d of punishment in which \u201ceverybody suffers.\u201d<\/p>\n In a public comment submitted to the U.S. Department of Education\u2019s Office of Civil Rights, the three co-chairmen of Project 21 wrote:<\/p>\n Teachers shouldn\u2019t be judged by statistics. Students deserve better classroom environments. That\u2019s why the disparate-impact domination of discipline deserves a failing grade.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
