26 Nov 2014 Project 21’s Joe Hicks on Fox’s The Kelly File: Some Protesters are “Just Flat-Out Rejecting Facts and Evidence”

Project 21’s Joe Hicks and Rev. Rafael Green of the Metropolitan Christian Worship Center join Shannon Bream on the November 26 edition of Fox’s “The Kelly File” to discuss the violence in Ferguson, who is responsible for it and how communities can reduce violence in the future.

Among other comments, Joe Hicks said the willingness of some protesters to ignore facts makes communication difficult. He noted that some protesters appear to be “just flat-out rejecting facts and evidence; eyewitness testimony from black witnesses who came and corroborated the police officer’s version of events. People are saying ‘we won’t believe it; we refuse to accept it,’ and are continuing to argue for pushing forward, saying, in essence, the nation — people who are not black in this case — don’t understand where they’re coming from. I’m not always sure we need to understand that… we have to somehow find a way to engage… but there has to be some common basis for us having that discussion.”
