Free Enterprise Project’s Tom Borelli: GE/Immelt “Needs Government Spending” to Succeed

Tom Borelli of the National Center for Public Policy Research’s Free Enterprise Project points out that General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt has “doubled-down” on a reliance upon government spending on subsidies for alternative energy and that Immelt “needs government spending” and energy mandates in order for his leadership agenda for GE to succeed.  Tom also notes that polling data reveals that Immelt’s support for the Obama Administration’s “cap-and-trade” emissions regulations and stimulus spending hurts GE’s reputation with consumers.

This exchange was part of the 4/29/11 edition of “Varney & Co.” on the Fox Business Network.  Joining Tom in the discussion is host Stuart Varney and panelists Doug Schoen, Tracy Byrnes and Chris Cotter.
